General Description: Set on the shores of Bassenthwaite Lake, The Ouse Bridge House is a family run Guest House offering a friendly welcome and lovely views. We provide a relaxed atmosphere, warm friendly service and value for money in a stunning and peaceful location.This elegant Edwardian building has 11 bedrooms, of which 9 are doubletwin bedrooms with ensuite facilities and 2 further double bedrooms with separate private bathroom facilities. We have one room situated on the ground floor. Some of the bedrooms offer lovely views over Bassenthwaite Lake and Skiddaw beyond. All the other bedrooms have views over either the garden or the countryside to the rear. All rooms are comfortably furnished, centrally heated and equipped with Digital TV and DVD players, tea and coffee making facilities and Clock Radios. We also have ample private car parking, free WiFi and are licenced for guests..Full English breakfasts and evening meals are freshly prepared using the best local ingredients. Advanced booking is required for evening meals. Please note the restaurant is shut on Tuesday evenings for dinner.DEPOSIT and CANCELLATION POLICY non-refundable deposit of £30.00 per person is payable on booking to secure your room. We are situated by Bassenthwaite Lake between Keswick and Cockermouth.Exit the M6 at junction 40 and take the A66 Westbound towards Keswick. By-pass Keswick on the A66 following the signs for Cockermouth.The road follows the western shore of Bassenthwaite Lake for about 5 miles. There is a short stretch of dual carriageway (this used to be the old road and has a number of bends).Approximately 250 yards after the end of the dual carriageway take the first right turn onto a minor road, signposted Dubwath and Castle Inn.After just 50 yards, turn right again onto the B5291, signposted for Castle Inn.The Ouse Bridge House is a further 50 yards on the left, set back from the road.
