General Description: Oreposa is one of the oldest inhabited sites in Spain. It is said that Herculesfounded the town in 1716 BC. Over the years the castle has be en a refuge for soldiers, monks, nobles and travelers and this use c ontinues as a Parador. Fromthe rooms, or from the top of the Homenaje Tower, there are exceptional views of the Vineyards, olive groves and grazing lands with the background the often snowcapped Gredos mountai n range. All rooms have a private bathroom, telephone,satellite televi sion, safe and mini bar. The bedrooms are smaller than is usualin a Pa rador, but not unduly cramped. The hotel has air conditioning, lounges , a restaurant and bar. There are facilities to hold business meetings .
