General Description: The Georgian City of Bath is of breathtaking beauty with a romantic history and this special hotel reflects that perfectly. Impeccable style and attention to detail epitomes the kind of experience enjoyed by our guests.Set within the gardens, the unique ambience of The Bath House is designed for relaxation and pleasure and offers a combination of treatments and therapies. Other leisure pursuits include our own hot air Balloon, and the beautiful 1920 river launch, the Lady Sophina. Restaurants in Bath dont come any finer than The Dower House where Head Chefs, Mark Brega and Gordon Jones, and their brigade work closely to develop the synthesis of innovative cuisine within this rich architectural setting, striving to create the very best gourmet cuisine for a contemporary British menu that draws on influences from both the Mediterranean and the Far East. The Dower House is the Royal Crescents award-winning restaurant and one of the finest restaurants in Bath, if not the finest, open to both house guests and non-residents. The menu at The Dower House changes with the seasons to match the climate and to make best use of the very finest fresh ingredients. The cellar, expertly managed by sommelier Jean Marc Leitao, complements the menus and provides ample choice for both the casual diner and the true connoisseur of fine wines. Non residents are welcome for lunch or dinner. However, booking is essential. Following the usual route signs into Bath from the M4 may cause you delays as the traffic can be heavy and the one-way system sometimes frustrating. We have therefore put together a special route (usually used by Bathonians) from the M4 to The Royal Crescent, which should be trouble-free and, all things considered, should bring you safely to our doors from the M4 in about 20 minutes. From Junction 18 follow the A46 towards Bath for approximately 2.5 miles. You will pass The Crown Inn on your left and then the beautiful Dyrham Park and the Tollgate Teashop on your right.Immediately after The Tollgate Teashop, take a right turn (there are no directional signs). Continue along the twisty road for approximately 1.5 miles until you arrive at a T-junction.At the T-junction turn right (signposted Bristol A420), then immediately left to Hamswell. Follow the twisty road past Toghill Farm on your right, down the hill and up another hill to a T-junction (approx. 1.5 miles). At the T-junction turn left up the hill, following the signs to ?Lansdown and Bath?.Continue along this road for the next couple of miles you will drive along passing Lansdown Golf Club and Bath Racecourse on the right. Continue past The Blathwayt Arms pub on the right and then on to the city outskirts. As you enter the city you will pass the Hare and Hounds pub on the left. The road continues downhill until you reach another T-junction with a church to the left.Turn right at the T-junction and then drive down the hill, passing The Farmhouse Inn on the left and then two pubs on the right -The Belvedere on the corner of Morford Street and The Beehive near the corner of Julian Road. Continue past Julian Road on your right.Take the right turn into Bennett Street (street name carved into the stone at first floor level). Pass Russell Street and Circus Mews on your right.Drive into The Circus (Georgian houses built in a circle). Take the second exit out of The Circus into Brock Street.Drive straight onto the cobbled road of the Royal Crescent at the end of Brock Street, by the telephone box. Drive towards the centre of the Crescent. The hotel is Number 16, adjacent to the large magnolia tree. Please park your car at the front of the hotel and our Concierge will valet park it for you.Have a safe and enjoyable journey
