General Description: Due to part of the hotel being closed because of fire damage, the Swallow Imperial will be running as a budget style hotel during the refurbishment period with no restaurant, bar or leisure facilities available to guests.All rooms at the hotel are en-suite and consist of TV, coffeetea making facilities, iron and ironing board, hairdryer, trouser press. All single rooms have queen size beds. These rooms have not been affected by fire damage in any way. The hotel is situated mile from the lively City Centre of Newcastle Upon Tyne with, bars, clubs, and restaurants within walking distance. The hotel is very popular with weekend stag and hen party groups and is not suitable for any guest requiring a quiet weekend stay. FROM THE A1 take the A167(M) signposted City Centre. Stay on the A167(M) turning off the central motorway at the A1058 signposted Tynemouth and East Coast. At the traffic lights go straight ahead, the hotel is 100 yards on the left hand side.FOLLOW THE TYNE TUNNEL: Follow the A19 then take the slip road on the left signposted Coast Road A1058 towards Newcastle City Centre. When dual carriageway ends at the Corner House Public House continue straight along Jesmond Road, keeping in right hand lane across two more major sets of traffic lights. The hotel is on the right hand side after 500 yards FROM THE WEST A69: Join the A1 going North and take the second exit signed A167 City Centre. Then follow directions ?From the North A1? as above.
