General Description: The family run Meadfoot Bay Guesthouse is located in Torquay, one of Britain's most popular holiday destinations, often referred to as the English Riviera, with its warm climate and famous Torbay palm trees. Torquay is also the perfect base from which to explore the beauty spots of Devon. This charming, former Victorian Gentlemen's Residence is set in its own delightful grounds, just 200 metres from one of Torbay's prestigious Blue Flag beaches and a short walk from the centre of Torquay. The Meadfoot Bay Guesthouse is set in sloping gardens and a path climbs upwards on the seaward side of the hotel between mature rockeries and shrubs. Guests have the use of a patio with bench and chairs at the end of the path from which one can obtain views of Ore Stone and Thatcher's Rock across Meadfoot Bay.
Built in 1850 as a Gentlemens Residence, the licenced Meadfoot Bay guest house offers a warm and friendly atmosphere. Located just north of the harbour in the conservation area of Meadfoot, just 200m from the European Blue Flag beach of Meadfoot. The Meadfoot Bay operates a non-smoking policy throughout and offers 19 en-suite rooms, each with colour TVs in all the rooms, RadioAlarms, in-room teacoffee making facilities and complimentary toiletries. Latest time for booking in is 22.00hrs and breakfast is served from 8.30 to 9.30. From the end of the M5 take the A38. Within 5 miles take the A380 to Newton Abbot and Kingskerswell. After Kingskerswell,follow the signs Torquay (A3022).When in Torquay follow the signs for the Sea-Front. When the sea is in front of you, turn left along the coast road towards the Marina.You should pass the Priness Theatre on your right - bearing left at the next mini round-about.You are now in the Strand, with the Marina on your right - at the next mini round about (clock tower), turn left into Torwood Street. At the traffic lights (75 yards) turn right into Meadfoot Road. Go up the hill and as you go over the brow of the hill, the road becomes Meadfoot Sea Road and the Guest House is 300 yards on the right.
